Randall James Theisen, 52, of Remsen, died unexpectedly Friday, April 25, 2008, at At Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Randall James Theisen was born Oct. 12, 1955, at Le Mars, the son of Elmer & Joan (Schilmoeller) Theisen

Randy was raised and educated in Marcus, graduating from Marcus Community School in 1975. He then attended Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, graduating in 1977, with a degree in agri business management. After college Randy drove truck for Ricke's Super Sweet Feeds in Remsen.

On Aug. 2, 1980 Randy married Kim Kantak at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Randy continued working for Ricke's Super Sweet Feeds which is now Fid's Feed Supply, driving truck and testing soil. The couple then moved to Remsen in 1981. In 1997 Randy began working for Oyens Feed & Supply up until the present day.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen and the Knights of Columbus.

Randy was a big Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved sports and history. Randy also loved mowing his lawn and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Kim of Remsen; three daughters, Megan Theisen and her fiance Dave Kramer of Orange City, Karen and her husband Todd McGranahan of Le Mars, and Kelsey Theisen at home; one son, Tyler Theisen at home; one grandaughter, Melody McGranahan of Le Mars; His mother, Joan Cronin of Marcus; three brothers and their wives, Michael and Jean Theisen of Marcus, Brian and Lorie Theisen of Le Mars, and Mark and Julie Theisen of Le Mars; seven sisters, Debra and her husband Rick Hellman of Burt, Patricia and her husband Joseph Schulte of Omaha, Neb., Gail and her husband Richard Grzywa of Omaha, Neb., Denise Theisen of Spencer, Christy and her husband Scott Carlson of Marcus, Paula and her husband Tom Kleen of Sioux City, Marilyn and her husband Rod Wellman of Sioux City; his mother-in-law & her husband, Karen and Dan McGrane; 12 step-brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by is father, Elmer Theisen; two brothers, Jack, and Joseph in infancy; one sister, Mary in infancy; his stepfather, Joseph Cronin; and his father-in-law, LaVerne Kantak.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Remsen. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers will be Nathan Carlson, Jeremy Grzywa, Philip LaFluer, Mark Schulte, Aaron Theisen and Sean Theisen. Honorary bearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
