Richard F. Reemts, 83, of Craig, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at The Abbey in Le Mars.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in Riverside Cemetery, Akron,. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Richard F. Reemts, 83, of Craig died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at The Abbey in Le Mars, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Reemts was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Christian and Emma (Hitzemann) Reemts. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City and attended one year of college. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a pilot stationed in Saipan.

After leaving the service, he was a deep sea diver. He later worked and retired from the Gospel Mission in Sioux City managing the client data base.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He had a deep faith and enjoyed singing in church. He enjoyed doing art work.

Survivors include a daughter, LuAnn Petrick of Florida; a grandson, Troy Petrick of Florida; his friend and caregiver, Janice Gademan of Craig; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church or the Gospel Mission.

He will be greatly missed by his many friends.
