Terry T. Thorp, 61, of Le Mars, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at his home in Le Mars.

Terry Taylor Thorp was born Feb.14, 1945, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Donald Dwayne and Beverly Ruby (Mathews) Thorp. He was raised in Sioux City, and graduated from Leeds High School. He continued his education at a trade school in Kansas City, Mo., where he specialized in diesel mechanics. Terry returned to Sioux City and worked for various trucking firms including Condon Motors. He married Linda Conyers on April 4, 1970. They were blessed with three sons.

On June 10, 1983. Terry and Margaret R. Olejniczak were united in marriage. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Terry continued his work in diesel mechanics at Northwest Power in Orange City, Iowa and most recently at Anthony Trucking in Le Mars.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons Jason and Darren both of Dakota City, Neb., and Brian of Temecula, Calif.; grandchildren Amanda and Michael Thorp; his parents Donald and Beverly of Eagan, Minn.; two sisters Laurelyn Baker of Tucson, Ariz., and Darla Matthews of Burnsville, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon; his wife Margaret on April 8, 2006; and a brother-in-law Arthur Roy Baker.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. Burial will occur at a later date. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the Mauer - Johnson Family Gathering Room. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and will continue until service time.
