Edna L. Jensen, 98, of Le Mars, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.

Edna Louise Jensen was born Feb. 20, 1909, on the family farm one mile north of Adaville, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Labahn) Norton. She received her elementary education in Merrill and graduated from Merrill High School in 1928. Edna later earned a business degree from the National Business Training School in Sioux City. Following her education she worked as a bookkeeper in Merrill.

In 1930 Edna and Clifford Jensen were united in marriage at Storm Lake. The couple made their home on the Jensen family farm and later on a farm one mile north of Adaville. They farmed and raised their children near Adaville. Clifford died in 1964.

Edna moved to Merrill and worked for Dr. L. Stribley as an office manager until she was 80 years old. In 2002 Edna moved to Park Place Estates in Le Mars. She greatly enjoyed her stay at Park Place.

Edna was an active member of St John Lutheran Church in Merrill. She taught Sunday School and was active in Ladies' aid and circle. She was active in 4-H, Garden Club, and was a member of Farm Bureau. Her life revolved around her church and family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Coyla Andresen of Sioux City and Carol Heinzeroth of Alden; grandchildren Suzanne Kolbo and her husband John of Sioux City, Kristi Harmeier and her husband Dan of Sioux City, Rhonda Wieben and her husband Michael of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sonja Nielsen and her husband Kirk of Sergeant Bluff, Lynne Thomson and her husband William of Westwood, Kan., Greg Heinzeroth and his wife Genail of Ft. Dodge, Todd Heinzeroth of Denver, Colo., Jill Musson and her husband Troy of Shawnee, Kan., and Joel Heinzeroth and his wife Codi of Elgin, Okla.; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons-in-law Wayne Andresen and Ervin Heinzeroth; and a grandson Scott Heinzeroth.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Visitation began at 12 noon Sunday, at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family was present from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral.
