KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Marjorie P. Riley, 88, of Kingsley passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kingsley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Roger Kurtenbach officiating. Burial will be in Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Marjorie Pearl "Marge" Waddell was born April 17, 1919, in a farm near Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of Ray A. and Frances (Fisher) Waddell. She attended Danbury Public School and graduated from Danbury High School. She continued her education at Morningside College in Sioux City and would later receive a bachelor's degree. She performed her graduate work at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.

She and Elmer F. Riley were united in marriage on Dec. 8, 1956, in Le Mars, Iowa. The couple made their home in the Pierson and Kingsley, Iowa area. She taught elementary school in Pierson, Kingsley and Castana, Iowa. Elmer passed away May 29, 1984.

She was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church and was active in circle. She loved flowers, embroidery and cats.

She will be lovingly remembered by a brother, Ernest "Chuck" Waddell of Aurora, Colo.; a niece and her husband, Beverly and Ed Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a grandniece and her husband, Carla and Kevin Draper of Phoenix; a grandnephew, Eddie Nelson of Phoenix; a great-grandniece, Sarah Simmons of Phoenix; a great-grandnephew, Robbie Simmons of Phoenix; and a stepdaughter, Donna Mathey of Beachwood, N.J.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and a brother, Warren.
