Macie Kate Majeres, 6-month-old dughter of John and Katie Majeres of Remsen, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at her home.

Macie Kate Majeres was born Feb. 15, 2007, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, the daughter of John and Katie (Sitzmann) Majeres. At birth, Macie was diagnosed with epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic skin disease. Macie was a very happy baby who taught us many valuable lessons in life. She brought us so much joy and happiness. On July 19, she giggled at her brother Tommy. She loved to have her sister Isabelle sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to her. Her big sister, Alyssa cuddled and comforted her at naptime. On Aug. 14, we discovered her first tooth.

Her smile, blue eyes, long eyelashes, and button nose will forever be alive in our hearts. We find comfort knowing she is in heaven being cuddled and loved by God.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen.

Survivors include her parents John and Katie Majeres of Le Mars; two sisters, Alyssa and Isabelle; one brother, Tommy, all at home; great-grandparents, Dean and Helen Granquist of Verona, Wis., Loretta Harpenau of Remsen, Leonard and Lorna Majeres of Orange City; grandparents, Fred and Suzie Sitzmann of Rochester, Minn, and Duane and Florine Majeres of Remsen; several aunts, uncles and cousins: Ryan and his wife Kelli Doorenbos and their children Austin, Samuel and Mackenzie of Windon, Minn., James and his wife Kasie Sorenson, and Holly Sitzmann, all of Rochester, Minn., Nate Sitzmann of Beaumont, Calif., Judy Majeres of Marcus, Mike Majeres and his children Jeremy, Derek, Austin, Mike's fiancée Angie and son Tanner, all of Hinton, Andy and his wife Hope Majeres and their children Haley, Ashley and Jackson of Le Mars, Emily and her daughter Gracie and Emily's fiance Eric Spencer of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Ray and Leona Sitzmann; paternal great-grandfather Tony Harpenau; and paternal great-grandmother Rosella (Vaske) Majeres.
