Lavon Irene Krekow, 88, of Remsen, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

LaVon was born Jan. 20, 1919 in Hartley.

She will be missed by her daughters, Sonja Smith and Mary Clair and her husband John; grandchildren, Ann (Matt) Hanson Laurie Hollingsworth and her husband Clyde Birks; Isaac Clair; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Caleb Hanson, Morgan Hollingsworth, and Hannah Birks.

Private graveside services will be at Remsen Cemetery.

Brooks Funeral Care of Clive is in charge of arrangements.
