MRS. MAUDE PITTS

Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Josephine Pitts who resided at 901 6th Ave. S.W. in LeMars, will be held on Wednesday, July 17, and burial will be in the LeMars City cemetery. Time and place of services is pending. Mrs. Pitts passed away near Cleghorn, Iowa, on July 14, 1957, after a sickness of several years.

Maude Donavon was born August 16, 1889, at Cherokee and was 67 years, 10 months and 28 days old. She was a housewife and seamstress. She had lived in LeMars the past 40 years following her marriage to Thomas Pitts on June 10, 1910. Her husband passed away in 1918.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Ebrecht of LeMars, Mrs. Joseph (Louise) Miller of Sioux City, John Pitts of Sioux City, Melvin and LeRoy Pitts, both of LeMars, Mrs. Fred (Bernice) Paul of Fredericksburg, Texas. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, John Donavon of Sioux City, Gene Donavon of Glendale, California, Freeman and William Donavon of Sioux City; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Gray of Sioux City, Mrs. James Philips of Missouri Valley, Mrs. Sid Nelson & Mrs. Frank Byrne, both of Sioux City.
