H.B. MOREHEAD IS LAID TO REST

Funeral Services Held on Tuesday P.M. for Well Known Resident

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday from the residence and at two-thirty from the Presbyterian Church for Herbert B. Morehead, well known resident of Plymouth County, who passed away at his home, 629 Third Ave. S.W. on Saturday morning following a lingering sickness. Rev. F. P. Pfaltzgrad, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated at the services and interment was made in the City cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Mr. Morehead suffered a stroke several years ago from which he never fully recovered. He had reached the age of 66 year, 10 months and 18 days.

Born May 20, 1871, the son of Robert and Lucitta Morehead (nee Lytle) Herbert Morehead came to Plymouth county from Savannah, Ill. As a young man, he engaged in the occupation of farming near Adaville, and on October 30, 1895, he was united in marriage to Ida R. Fletcher, at LeMars, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Morehead farmed successfully for many years, later retiring to LeMars.

Surviving besides his beloved wife are the following children Mrs. Irene Nigg, Sioux City: Mrs. Gladys Hines, Akron; F. Marion Morehead, Westfield; Howard E. Morehead, Westfield; Verle I. Morehead, Sioux City. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna King of Merrill, and 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Mr. Morehead was a member of the First Presbyterian church and also for 19 years was a member of the M.W.A.[Modern Woodmen of America] During his residence here, Mr. Morehead gained the admiration and esteem of a large number of friends and neighbors who mourn his passing.

Stinton, Lucas, S.D.; Mrs. Alma Sanford and Mrs. Harold Palm of Sioux City; Mr and Mrs. Charles Kanago, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Young, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kanago, and Eldon; Edw. Stinton, Mrs. Neva Pollack, Mr. and Mrs.Fay Port, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Port, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Morehead, Mr. and Mrs. Strachey Morehead, Mrs. Leonard Miller of Akron and Mrs. Leonard McCorkell of Westfield.
