GLADYS BUEHRE

LE MARS, Iowa --- Gladys L. Buehre, 92, of LeMars, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Plymouth Presbyterian Church in rural Akron, Iowa, with the Rev. Randall Knuth officiating. Burial will be in First Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Buehre was born Jan. 15, 1907, near LeMars, the daughter of Gus A. and Josie B. (Pollard) Dennler. She was raised in Merrill, Iowa, graduating from LeMars Central High School in 1930. She attended nurses training at Sacred Heart Hospital in LeMars. She was employed as a private duty nurse for several years at the hospital and residences.

She married Vernon “Bim” Buehre on Sept. 1, 1936, in Boone, Iowa. The couple farmed in Plymouth Township for several years. He died June 10, 1990.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Gary and Judy of Villa Park, Ill.; a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Robert Jones of Duncan, Okla.; three grandchildren, Suzanne and Steven Buehre and Melinda Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.
