LOUIS HERMAN BRUNS

Louis Herman Bruns, 75, who lived most of his life in Plymouth county, died Tuesday at Floyd Valley Hospital after a long illness.

He had been a patient at the hospital since he was injured Aug. 8, 1967, in a car accident in which his wife was killed.

Mr. Bruns was born Oct. 31, 1894, in Raymond, S.D., the son of John and Mary Janssen Bruns. He was a retired farmer, truck operator and tavern operator.

Mr. Bruns had lived in the Brunsville area since 1901. His marriage to Ankea Margarette Dirks took place Nov. 25, 1915, in Plymouth County.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant township., Rev. Robert Reitz will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Elmer E. Bruns, Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Knox, Homewood, Ill.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Ethel) Dirks, Akron, and Mrs. Marie Dirks, La Guna Hills, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers and three sisters.
