WILLIAM B. BORCHERS
William B. Borchers, 88, of LeMars, lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1991, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Preston Township, rural Akron.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Borchers was born Dec. 12, 1902, at rural Merrill to Lewis and Emma Collmann Borchers. He married Johanna Jacobs on Aug. 11, 1926, at rural Akron. He was a farmer, operated the Skelly Service Station and operated a corn shelling business.
He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars.
Survivors are his wife, Johanna, of LeMars; a son, Wendell Borchers and wife, Norma, of Akron; a daughter, Audrey Cole and husband, Don, of Palisade, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Lee, in infancy; three brothers, Harvey, Ben and Henry and a sister, Helen Noble.
