WILLIAM H. BORCHERS
William H. Borchers, 74, Route 1, Ireton, a Plymouth County native, died Tuesday (Feb. 20, 1990) at the Akron Care Center after an illness of 4 ½ years.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig with Beth Graham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Craig.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
He was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Preston Township, Plymouth County to Ben C. & Minnie Siebens Borchers. He married Dorothy Marie Jahn Nov. 7, 1940, at rural Ireton. The couple farmed. He was a farmer all of his life until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Borchers was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Craig.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy, of rural Ireton; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jane Borchers of Moville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Bert Ullrich of Sergeant Bluff, Carol and Steve Rembe of Sioux City, Mary and Craig Parkinson of Akron; a brother, Louis Borchers of rural Ireton and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
