RUEBEN A. BORCHERS

Rueben A. Borchers, 54, 3700 Jones St., died Friday in a Sioux City hospital following a short illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Daumer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 1-9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7-9 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Borchers was born Dec. 6, 1932, at Battle Creek, Neb. He graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1950. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Rosetta Beitelspacher Sept. 20, 1959, in Plymouth County, Iowa. Mr. Borchers worked for Hansen Paint and Glass, Schindlers Jewelers and for the credit department of A.Y. McDonald before starting Area Credit Service in 1963. It later became Area Tax and Management.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Exchange Club, and the Business Leaders Club. He was also a member of River City Anglers, and a former Cub Master of the Bryant School Club Scout Troop.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bradley and Barrie both of Sioux City; a daughter Sandra, of Sioux City; two brothers, Kenneth of Dallas, Texas, and Milton of Missouri Valley, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Schoening of Oakland, Iowa, and Mrs. Lowell (Ethel) Albers of Holstein.
