Jim Tone
Jim Tone, 22, Poplar, Mont., a LeMars native, died unexpectedly Tuesday (April 14, 1981) at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Jim was the youngest member of a family of nine children of Dorothy Tone of Saco, Mont., and the late Alfred Tone.
He was a member of the police force in Poplar.
He was born in LeMars and attended school here, leaving about 10 years ago, his aunt, Lois Jimenez said.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Presbyterian church, rural Akron. Rev. Robert Hazen will officiate and burial will be in the Plymouth Presbyterian cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.
Friends may meet the family between 7 and 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Tone of Saco, Mont.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nurse, Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Van (Mary) Feldner, Bozeman, Mont., and Leah Tone, Reno, Nev.; four brothers, Dan of Reno, Paul of Arvada, Colo., Timothy of Glasgow, Mont., and David of Helena, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his father and by a sister, Martha.
