Mrs. Frank Peters Claimed by Death

Funeral services for Mrs. Anniena Peters, 83, who lived in Le Mars since 1945, were held Saturday at Christ Lutheran church in Remsen with burial in the Remsen cemetery.

Mrs. Frank Peters died at her home April 22 (1953). She had been ill for the past year and a half. The Rev. H. H. Meyer conducted the last services, and arrangements were under the care of the Mauer funeral home.

Anniena Pieper was born Nov. 22, 1869, at Newhall, Iowa, but moved to Remsen as a child. Her marriage to Frank Peters took place March 31, 1896 at that place, and thereafter they farmed near Remsen, and later in the vicinity of Clark, S.D.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Earl, Clark, S.D. and Orville of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Huffman and Mrs. William Buckingham, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Norma Titus, Miller, S.D.; eight grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Flickner, Sibley, IA., Mrs. Kathryn Ohlendorf, Remsen and Mrs. C.J. Koerner, Le Mars.

Mrs. Anniena Peters of 310 4th Ave. S.E. Le Mars passed away at her home here April 22, 1953 following a sickness of 1 ½ years duration.

Anniena Pieper was born November 22, 1869, at Newall, Iowa. She came to Remsen as a child. On March 31, 1896, she was united in marriage with Frank Peters at Remsen. They farmed near Remsen and also Clark, S.D. They came to Le Mars in 1945. She was 83 years of age.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25 at the Christ Lutheran church, Remsen with Rev. H. H. Meyer of Le Mars officiating at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home here.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Peters of Le Mars; two sons, Earl Peters of Clark, S.D., and Orville Peters of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Huffman (Irma) of Sioux City; Mrs. Norma Titus of Miller, S.D.; Mrs. William Buckingham (Hazel) of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and four sisters; Mrs. Pauline Flickner of Sibley; Mrs. Hulda Willenburg of Carroll; Mrs. Kathryn Ohlendorf of Remsen and Mrs. C. J. Koerner of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter. Deceased was a member of the ladies aid of Christ Lutheran church, Remsen. – Le Mars Globe Post, April 23, 1953, page 24.
