Rose C. Ludwigs, 90, of Le Mars, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at Good Samaritan Village (Brentwood) in Le Mars.

Rose Catherine Henrietta Heeren was born May 23, 1916, in Le Mars, the daughter of John and Anna (Monke) Heeren. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church (Grant Township) rural Le Mars. Rose attended country school near her home and later helped her family with farming.

On May 25, 1945 Rose and Harvey Ludwigs were united in marriage in Le Mars. The couple made their home in Le Mars where Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Rose enjoyed playing cards and taking trips.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sharon Anthony and her husband Tim of Le Mars and Joanne Rorke and her husband Bob of Cumming, Ga.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Travis of Le Mars, Lindsey Rorke at Valdosta University in Valdosta, Ga., Rob Rorke of Flowery Branch, Ga., John Rorke and his wife Kathy of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Anderson, Caleb Rorke and Jacob Rorke.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey on Jan. 1, 1972; brothers Richard, Walter, Harry and Lawrence; and a sister Ruth (Baack) Dose.

Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:30 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral.
