Raymond E Anderson, 73, Route 2 Merrill, prominent cattle feeder and farmer died Friday August 7, 1987 at Akron Care Center after an extended illness due to Alzheimers disease.
Funeral will be held at 2 pm Sunday August 9, at the Hinton United Methodist Church, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev Dale Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Merrill. Friends may call after 2 pm Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7 to 8 pm.
He was born March 28, 1914, at Hinton to Oscar and Agda Pearson Anderson. He married M Eileen Simons August 25, 1938 at Ireton.
Mr Anderson attended Iowa State University and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho: a member of National Cattleman's Association, Farm Bureau, REC board of directors, Hinton School Board, Plymouth County Zoning Board, Plymouth County Fair Board and Hinton United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his children, Mary G Young, California: R Kent Anderson, Maryland: Carole J Maguire, Michigan: Barbara K Williams, Des Moines; Craig A Anderson, Merrill. Also surviving are four grandchildren and a sister, Eleanor Fowler of Floyd, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, M. Eileen.
