Funeral services for Lawrence Schumann, 53, widely known farmer and cattle feeder in the county will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John American Lutheran Church, Rev. L. L. Belk will officiate.

Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery. Friends may call at Luken’s funeral home from Friday noon until noon Saturday.

Mr. Schumann died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his farm home in Stanton township after suffering a heart attack.

He was born Dec. 15, 1906, and raised on a farm in Stanton township, where he was a lifelong resident. After the death of his mother, he farmed with his father until the elder Schumann died Nov. 12, 1944.

Mr. Schumann was engaged in extensive farming operations, including a large cattle feeding program. He was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.

His marriage to Alvina Schulz took place Sept. 19, 1936. She survives as does one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mason of Newport Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Schumann.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be Vern Lovely, Robert Boyd, Harry L. Wells, Louis Mays, Frank P. Becker, and Phil Groetken.
