SERVICES WEDNESDAY FOR AMELIA SINGER,
100-YEAR-OLD PLYMOUTH COUNTY NATIVEAmelia “Millie” Singer, 100, of LeMars, died Sunday, April 9, 1995, at The Abbey in LeMars.
Miss Singer was born June 23, 1894, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Leonard and Katherine (Mader) Singer. She was raised and educated in Plymouth County and had lived here her entire life.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxilary.
Survivors include two nephews, John Byers and his wife, Devona of Clearbrook, Minn., and Richard Byers of Omaha, Neb., whom she raised since 1924 when their mother died; and also several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and three sisters.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael D. Sernett officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday, with a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., all at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars.
