LOLA KAELKE
Mrs. Roy (Lola) Kaelke, 62, New London, Minn., a Hawarden native, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon (Dec. 8, 1983) at Rice Memorial Hospital, Wilmar, Minn.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Peace Lutheran Church, New London, with Rev. Philip Nelson and Rev. Delwayne Hahn officiating. Burial was at Lebanon Cemetery.
Lola was born at Hawarden Nov. 5, 1921, to John and Clara Barinsky. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawarden, where she graduated from high school. She attended Westmar College in LeMars and taught in country schools for several years.
Her marriage to Roy C. Kaelke took place Dec. 27, 1943, at the Akron Methodist Church. They lived at Akron until 1956 when they moved to New London where they farmed. She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her husband, Roy; two sons, Gary of New London, and Kewyn of Spicer, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sheryl) Zipf, Wilmar; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lester (Lois) Janssen, Hawarden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Jr.
