Ronald E. Haack, 70, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at his home in Le Mars.

Ronald Eugene Haack was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Remsen, the son of Roy and Edna (Hanno) Haack. He was baptized into the Christian faith and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Westhoff on July 28, 1995 in Elk Point, S.D.

He drove truck for his dad, did a little farming, drove for Harker's Distribution, Inc., and worked for George's Quik-to-Fix for 25 years. Later, he drove for BLT Trucking in Le Mars, retiring in March 2005.

Truck driving was the love of is life, and he loved to go walleye fishing on the Missouri river dams at Chamberlin and Pierre, S.D.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Le Mars; two daughters: Kim McAuliffe and her husband, Tim of Centennial, CO, and Terri Petersen of Le Mars; six step-children, Greg Westhoff and his wife Laurie of Le Mars, Bryan Westhoff and his wife, Denise of North Pole, Alaska, Kevin Westhoff and his wife, Mary of Le Mars, Kurt Westhoff and his wife, Angie of Texas City, Texas, Barry Westhoff of Chandler, Ariz., and Lisa Lloyd and her husband, Anthony of Sioux City; four grandchildren: Jamie Rounds, Christine Rounds, Jake Petersen, and Michael Petersen; 14 step-grandchildren: Derek, Josh, and Trent Westhoff, Bo Phillips, Travis, Tyler, Trevor, and Tate Westhoff, Skylar Alys Westhoff, Reese and Drake Westhoff, Breanna, Rebecca, and Michael Lloyd; his mother-in-law, Lucille Jean Foreman of Orange City; a sister, La Donna Stangby of Le Mars; a brother, Marlin Haack and his wife, Janet Atlanta, Ga.; three brother-in-laws, Don Foreman and his wife, Penny of Sergeant Bluff, Rodney Foreman and his wife, Marsha of Sergeant Bluff, and Scott Foreman and his wife, Irene of Orange City; a special aunt and uncle, Wilbert and Ethel Baltzer of Las Vegas, Nev.; and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna Haack; a son: Rick Haack; and his father-in-law: Willard "Barney" Foreman.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Visitations will be after 3:30 p.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery immediately following the funeral service, with time of fellowship to follow at the Carlsen Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Jim Brownmiller, Brent Brownmiller, Todd Brownmiller, Brian Brownmiller, Rory Booth, and Jeff Cluck. Honorary casketbearers will be Harlan Hansen, Joe Juarez, Cliff Monroe, Tim Koopman, and Lance Pedersen.
