LE MARS, Iowa -- Frances Mary Crayne, 92, a lifelong resident of Le Mars died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.
The former Frances Mary Henn was born June 4, 1910, in Le Mars, the daughter of Anton and Stella (McCarthy) Henn. She was raised and educated in Le Mars and graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
She married Richard Cherry Crayne on July 14, 1942, in Le Mars. The couple lived in Le Mars their entire married life. They owned and operated Henn Electric in Le Mars for many years. Richard died Aug. 14, 1985. She continued to operate the business until the early 1990s.
She was a member of Le Mars Municipal Golf Course and the Elks (B.P.O.E.) for many years.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Richard and Donna Crayne of Waverly, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Vicki and Jim Freking of Le Mars; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law, Ellen Crayne of Waverly.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents.
