Emma Ahrendt, 77, of LeMars, lifelong county resident, died Monday (June 12, 1978) at St. Luke’s hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township in Plymouth County with Rev. Jack Hebard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

Miss Ahrendt was born Nov. 24, 1900, in Grant township to Fred and Gesche Cramer Ahrendt and was a seamstress for Hoffman’s Draperies and Carmen’s Dress shop, both in LeMars, for many years.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran church women and had taught Sunday school there for 35 years.

Survivors are four brothers, Rev. Fred Ahrendt of Spokane, Wash., and Henry, Carl and Bennie, all of LeMars, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Amanda) Renken, Mrs. C. H. (Marie) Renken and Mrs. Fred (Reaka) Otto, all of LeMars.
