REMSEN, Iowa --- Mrs. Norbert (Inez) Ahmann, 86, of Remsen died unexpectedly Saturday, February 24, 1996, at a Sioux City Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Reverend John J. McGuirk of Remsen and the Reverend John Rasmussen of Elk Point, South Dakota, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Mrs. Ahmann was born November 25, 1909, in Remsen, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Kipp) Clement. She was raised and educated in Remsen. She graduated from St. Mary's high school in 1927 and National Business Training School in Sioux City in May 1929.

She was employed at Plymouth Produce in LeMars and was a secretary and bookkeeper at the Iowa Public Service Co. in a Remsen from December 1, 1930, until January 15, 1933.

She married Norbert Ahmann August 1, 1932, in a Remsen. The couple made their home in Remsen until August 1944 when they moved to Sioux City. They returned to Remsen in July 1949.

Mrs. Ahmann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member and past officer of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America, a member and past officer for more than 60 years of Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters and was a teacher's aide at St. Mary's school for 12 years.

Survivors include her husband; four sons and their wives, Mark and Jane, and Leo and Candace, all of Wayne, in Nebraska; Noel and Sharyn of Remsen; and Hugh and Bonnie of Montgomery, Alabama; a daughter, Rita Ahmann of Elk Point, South Dakota; two sons in law, Roland Chapman of Spirit Lake and Tom and his wife, Diane Britt of LeMars; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Hope) Britt and Mrs. Rowland (Ann) Chapman, and two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Angeline) Dose and Mrs. Ted (Olivia) Tamminga.

Pallbearers will be Christopher, David, John and Martin Ahmann, David Britt and Jay Chapman.
