Joyce M. Clark, 81, of Sioux City died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Westwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sioux City.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter of St. Boniface Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clark was born April 23, 1922, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna (Langdon) Vreugdenhil. She graduated from Akron High School in 1939.

She married Kenneth D. Clark on Aug. 15, 1942, at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Rogers, Ark. She was a manager of Stevenson's Dress Shop at the Sunset Plaza, now known at the Market Place Mall, for 22 years. After retiring, she worked part time for Alternative Home Care until the age of 75.

She had been a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church since 1942, where she served as a former president of the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ken; a son, Ken "Butch" Clark of Knoxville, Iowa; three daughters, Sherry Bruneau of Sioux City, Debbie and her husband, Warren Clemon of Sioux City, and Cindy Olson of Odebolt, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Robert and Sally Vreugdenhil of Alcester, S.D.; a sister and her husband, Mariann and Eldon Earlley of Wilsonville, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Myra Vreugdenhil of Akron; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael; four brothers, Max, Dennis, Gene and Hope; and a son-in-law, Dick Bruneau.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
