Doris D. Clark, 90, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller, visitation pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clark was born April 6, 1913, in Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of David A. and Fannie L. (Simmons) Woodley. She graduated from Merrill High School.
She married Harold J. Clark on Aug. 16, 1939, in Dakota City. Prior to 1979, the couple owned and operated Clark's Cafe in Sioux City for 25 years. Later, she worked in the housekeeping department at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for several years. Mr. Clark passed away Oct. 1, 1986, in Sioux City.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, crafts, crossword puzzles and attending softball games at Hubbard Park.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas H. Clark and his special friend, Mary Kay Smith of Sioux City and Keith W. Clark and his fiancee, Sara Gonzalez of Omaha; two brothers, Merlin Woodley and his wife, Helen of Akron, Iowa, and Chester Woodley of McCook Lake, S.D.; two sisters and their husbands, Joyce and Bob Lanagan of Sioux City and Beverly and Warren Livengood of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Stacey K. Clark of Sioux City, Lisa M. Clark of Sioux City, Kim and her husband, Bob Nunnink of Nevada City, Calif., Kristy Gomez of Fresno, Calif., and Ricky DeLaughter of Grass Valley, Calif.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen K. DeLaughter.
