WESTFIELD, Iowa -- Arlene L. Lindberg, 49, of Westfield died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa, with the Rev. Sonja Brucklacher officiating. Burial will be in Westfield Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Arlene Lindberg was born Feb. 14, 1953, in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Wilma (VanGeest) Stibral. She graduated from Akron High School in 1971.

She married Richard Lindberg on Sept. 3, 1976, in Chatsworth, Iowa, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Mrs. Lindberg was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith as a child at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Chatsworth. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and gardening, both flowers and vegetables. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons and their wives, David and Vicki of Sioux City and Troy and Rebecca of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, Kristina and Craig Heeren of Indian Springs, Nev.; her mother, Wilma Stibral; six grandchildren, Dewight Lindberg, Tony Lindberg, Chastity Lindberg, Kayla Heeren, Tiffany Heeren and Craig Heeren.

She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Bill and Larry Stibral.
