REMSEN, Iowa -- Therese Ann "T.A." Bohnenkamp, 68, of Remsen died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary by the Christian Mothers at 3 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 8 p.m., all at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Therese was born May 22, 1934, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of John and Rosella (Moylan) Caraher. "T.A." was raised in Bayard, Iowa, where she received her primary education. She received her secondary education at Sisters of Notre Dame Academy at Omaha, Neb., from which she graduated in 1952. She then attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City for two years.

On Feb. 1, 1955, she married Kenneth Bohnenkamp at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Bayard. They made their home near Remsen, where they were engaged in farming. Kenneth died March 17, 1972. T.A. continued to live on the farm until moving into Remsen in 1982. She was employed at Moeller Furniture in Remsen for the last 28 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Order of Foresters, V.F.W. Auxiliary, charter member of the Happy Siesta Auxiliary and was the first chairperson of Remsen St. Mary's Ball "Wine and Roses."

Survivors include six sons, Mike and his wife, Deanna, John and his wife, Tammy, Tom and his wife, Laurie, all of Remsen, Dave and his family of Omaha, Larry and his wife, Lynn of Le Mars, Iowa, and Todd and his wife, Jodi of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marian Kellen of Remsen; and a brother-in-law, Francis Bohnenkamp of Hawk Springs, Wyo.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joe in infancy and James.

Pallbearers will be Mike, Dave, Larry, John, Tom and Todd Bohnenkamp.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
