LE MARS, Iowa -- Dwight E. Betsworth, 75, of Le Mars died early Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a parish rosary at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Dwight Edgar Betsworth was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Le Mars, to Jerome and Josephine (Braun) Betsworth. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Allard on Oct. 23, 1954, in Sioux City.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; two sons, Dan of Sioux City, and Darwin and his wife, Laura; 10 daughters, Kathy and her husband, Mike Benner, Karen and her husband, Tom Jungers, Patricia and her husband, Jim Tremmel, Cindy and her husband, Larry Johnson, Marcia and her husband, Al Pratt, Gayla and her husband, Bob Weiler, Joyce and her husband, Scott Grosenheider, Diana and her husband, David Vander Kooi, Karmen Betsworth and Susan and her husband, Phil Nicholson; a sister-in-law, Beth Betsworth; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donna and John Armstrong and Ron and Carlene Allard; 32 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Josephine Betsworth; five brothers, Wayne, Darwin, Lowell, Leo and Jerome "Duke" Betsworth; and two sisters, Cleo Hickey and Shirley Bruinsma.
Pallbearers will be Sam Pratt, Dustin Johnson, Nick Nicholson, Barry Betsworth, Brian Armstrong and Travis Smith.
