BEITELSPACHER, EDEN, RENKEN

LE MARS, Iowa -- H.H. Beitelspacher, 93, of Grant Township, rural Le Mars, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Henry Herman Beitelspacher was born Jan. 5, 1909, on the family farm in Grant Township, rural Le Mars, to Carl and Maria (Eden) Beitelspacher. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He attended Grant School 6.

H.H. was united in marriage to Louise Renken on Aug. 11, 1931, at the church parsonage. H.H. and Louise farmed in Grant Township for many years. In 1975, they retired and moved to Brunsville, Iowa.

He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he had been active with several offices and boards. He had also been a member of Plymouth County Farm Bureau, Honorary 4-H member, Plymouth County Cattlemen's Association, Plymouth County Pork Producers, country school director, Plymouth County Fair board and director of the St. Luke's School of Nursing. He enjoyed traveling and playing cards. He had been an active member of the Brunsville community and especially enjoyed coffee at the Corner. He always enjoyed the fair activities with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of Brunsville; eight children and their spouses, Donald and Betty Beitelspacher of Brunsville, Laura Mae and Gerald Nathlich of Woodward, Iowa, Delores and James Buryanek of Westfield, Iowa, Joan and Erwin Renken of Brunsville, Arlene and Larry Sorensen of Storm Lake, Iowa, Janice and Larry Pritchett of Westfield, Edwin and Doris Beitelspacher of Le Mars and Wayne and Julie Beitelspacher of Le Mars; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and a daughter in infancy.

Pallbearers will be David Pritchett, Luke, Steve and Kelly Beitelspacher, Sheryl Herrold, Scott Renken, Lori Sorensen and Jeff Buryanek. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
