AKRON, Iowa -- Agnes Martha Bean, 82, of Akron died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Akron City Convalescence Care Center in Akron.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Curtis Matson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron, followed by lunch to be served in the church basement. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Bean was born May 22, 1919, in Akron, the daughter of Lars and Volborg (Sandvold) Granquist. She attended school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School. She married Richard Bean on Oct. 8, 1938, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron.

Mrs. Bean was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and started the all-class reunion in Akron. In her free time she loved ceramics, crocheting and playing bridge.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Carol of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a daughter and her husband, Sandra Daniel Hudek of Sioux City; a sister, Marie Willer of Akron; five grandchildren, Michael Bean, Brian Bean, Cassie Baker, Robyn Claeys and Chad Coyle; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dallas Rounds; and a niece and nephew, Steve and Karen Rounds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Katherine Rounds.
