Arlene J. Boysen
Arlene J. Boysen, 83, of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Following cremation, there will be private graveside services in Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, Iowa. There will be no visitation.
Miss Boysen was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Brunsville, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and E. Josephine (Erickson) Boysen. She graduated from LeMars High School in 1935.
She obtained a teaching degree from Western Union College in LeMars. While teaching in various public schools in Iowa, she attended summer school to attain a bachelor of arts degree and a masters degree. She taught at Bryant Elementary School in Sioux City, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in LeMars, Rose Croix Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, State and National Teachers Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority and Sioux City Retired Educators Unit.
Survivors include a sister and her husband, Joan and Gene Hulse of Mesa, Ariz.; a nephew and his wife, David and Virginia Hulse of San Diego, Calif.; a niece and her husband, Julie and Richard Bell of Thornton, Iowa, and their children, Aaron Bell and his wife, Kimberlee, Alison Bell and Megan Bell.
