Mrs. Sanford Hinzman

LeMARS, Iowa – Mrs. Sanford Hinzman, 80, of LeMars, died Wednesday in a nursing home in LeMars.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. The Rev. Bob Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Adaville. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Hinzman, the former Marie E. Morehead, was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Johnson Township, Plymouth County. She graduated from high school at Merrill and attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. On June 16, 1934, she married Sanford Hinzman at Elk Point, S.D. She taught in rural schools in Plymouth County. The couple lived in the Omaha area for many years and moved to LeMars in 1976.

Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Ivy Jennings of LeMars and Gertrude Brown of Merrill, and brother, Lloyd Morehead of Akron.
