Mrs. Earl Chapman

LeMars, Iowa—Mrs. Earl Chapman, 80, LeMars, died Tuesday in a LeMars nursing home of long illness. [Date of death: 7 Nov 1978 per the funeral home program]

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Seney United Methodist Church. The Rev. Everett Staats and Lyle Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Seney Cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home, of LeMars.

Mrs. Chapman, the former Annie Elizabeth Zimmerman, was born Oct. 28, 1898, in Sioux County. She was married to Albert Hawkins, March 7, 1917. They farmed in Sioux and Plymouth counties. He died in June 1961.

She was married to Earl Chapman, Oct. 8, 1965.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Richard Hawkins of LeMars and David Hawkins of Orange City; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Dennler of Merrill; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Delton (Jean) Gritzmaker of LeMars; three brothers, Henry of Pleasantville, N.J. Richard of LeMars, and George of Coronado, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Groth of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Elsie Mohan, of Hawarden; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
