Robert Tindall

Robert Curry Tindall, 87, Laguna Hills, Calif., the last surviving member of a family of six children, died Sunday (April 16, 1978) in California.

He was a native of Adaville area and a brother of the late J. D. Tindall, a longtime LeMars resident.

Mr. Tindall was born Jan. 3, 1890, at Adaville to James and Agnes Curry Tindall. Several nieces and nephews now live in LeMars and in the Akron community.

Robert and his wife, Nina Salzman Tindall, made their home in California for many years.

He was a veteran of World War I, a retired Y.M.C.A. Secretary, and a former chaplain at the navy chapel in Long Beach.

He was a writer of no mean ability and has left a wealth of information to his relatives in the form of family histories and of events as he experienced them in his world travel and consequential studies.

Services will be held in California.

Survivors are his wife, Nina; seven nieces, seven nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Robert Currie Tindall, 88, Laguna Hills, Calif., were conducted Thursday, April 20, at 1 p.m. by Rose Hills Mortuary in Rainbow chapel, with Rev. Dr. Edward J. Caldwell officiating.

Interment followed in Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Tindall, a resident of California for 58 years and formerly affiliated with the YMCA for many years, was born in Plymouth county, Iowa, and died Sunday (April 16, 1978) in Saddleback Community hospital in Laguna Hills.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War I, and is survived by his wife, Nina, of the home address, and several nieces and nephews.
