Minnie Russell

Minnie Russell, 89, LeMars native and lifelong resident, died early Saturday (April 8, 1978) at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness.

Mary Elizabeth Russell, was born March 2, 1889, in LeMars to James and Ann Tiernan Russell. She was a lifelong member of St. James church and an honorary life member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and John and a sister, Maggie Miller.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. James Church with Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Parish rosary and CDA rosary were recited Sunday evening at the funeral home.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles of LeMars, and Mike of Sioux City, and by several nieces and nephews; also by seven grand nieces and nephews.
