Mrs. Kohl had been in ailing health for a long time and became seriously ill about two weeks ago.

Mrs. Kohl lived all her life in this vicinity. Her maiden name was Gertrude Werth and she was born in Stanton township July 1, 1883, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Werth, who came from Germany in the seventies and settled on a farm in Stanton township.

She was married to Conrad Kohl March 7, 1906, and they farmed in Union township until moving to LeMars 1932.

She is survived by her husband and her daughter, Irene Kohl, who is taking a post graduate course in psychology at the Iowa State University; her brothers, Will J. Werth, Herman and Albert, of LeMars and a sister, Mrs. J. J. McDougall, of Struble.

Mrs. Kohl was widely known in the community where she spent her life and was esteemed in a large circle of acquaintance.

Final arrangements for the funeral were not completed last evening but the services will be held probably Saturday afternoon at the Hildreth church, Rev. G. O. Thompson officiating, and interment made in the city cemetery.

The Mauer funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
