ESTEEMED AKRON RESIDENT DIES LAST THURSDAY
Mrs. Clara E. Anderson Lived Entire Life In Plymouth County
Mrs. Clara E. Andersen, a lifelong and esteemed resident of Plymouth county, passed away Thursday morning. November 16, 1956, after a several weeks illness, at the age of 80 years, 9. months and 13 days.
Clara E. Heeren, daughter of John and Helena Heeren, was born at LeMars, Iowa, February 2, 1876. She spent the early years of her life in Grant township, this county, where she was united in marriage with Andrew Andersen on September 16, 1899. They engaged in farming in western Plymouth county, residing in the Adaville community for forty-three years. They came to Akron to live in 1944. She was preceded in death, by her husband October 30, 1950; also by an infant son, Oscar.
She was a devoted wife and mother and a kind friend and neighbor who was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bertha C. Prestage, of Sioux City; three sons, Clarence, of Belgrade, Minn.; Calvin, of Akron, and Wayne, of Sioux City; also 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Wesley Methodist church, Rev. C. L. Guinn officiating. Mrs. C. L. Guinn sang, and Mrs. H. B Nelson was accompanist.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Nygard, Russell Clark, Clark Tindall, Martin Toban, Frank Morehead and Stanley King.
Interment was in Plymouth Presbyterian church cemetery.
