Donald Penne rites Thursday

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian United Church of .Christ for Donald J. Penne, 48, of 409 4th Ave. SW.

Mr. Penne died Monday morning (Aug. 20, 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital shortly after he was rushed from his home by Luken-Johnson ambulance. He reportedly had returned home Sunday from the Veterans hospital, Omaha, after an illness of three weeks. Rev. Ralph E. Nelson will officiate at services with burial in Memorial cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

A lifelong resident of Plymouth county, Mr. Penne was employed as a painter by Marty Arens. He was born Oct. 6,1924, at Merrill, the son of the late John Penne and Mrs. Kathryn (Ruedy) Penne, Le Mars. His marriage to Adaline Sanow took place Sept. 15,1953, in Le Mars. Mr. Penne was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife.Adaline of Le Mars; two sons, Kim of Le Mars and Gary Vander Vegte of Elkhorn; a daughter, Mrs. Norlan (Gloria) Woodard, Le Mars; a brother, Ronald Penne, Le Mars; sister, Mrs. Lyle (Delores) Dominick, Park Rapids, Minn., his mother, Mrs. Kathryn Penne, Le Mars, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
