Gini Roe, 72, of Le Mars passed away suddenly Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Le Mars United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Larson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 5:30 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitations will continue Friday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers will be Kirk Henderson, Steve Schrank, Tom McCrea, Kent McCrea, Chris Wilson, and Bob Johnson.

Virginia "Gini" Ann Cox was born August 14, 1936 to Ralph and Maude (Dunn) Cox. Gini was raised on a farm in Adams County, Iowa. She attended country school and later graduated from Lenox High School, Lenox, Iowa in 1954. She furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Gini was united in marriage at Lenox, Iowa to Gene Roe on September 4, 1955. They were the proud parents of three daughters, Terri, Merri, and Lori. Gene had worked for Farm Services/Growmark for many years. The family had lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Princeton, Wisconsin and Grinnell, Iowa. Gini, Gene, and their daughters moved to Le Mars in 1973. Gini enjoyed making a home for her family. In later years, she enjoyed working with her daughter Lori at Witzend in Le Mars. Gini was a very artistic and talented person. She loved to work in her yard creating a utopia for all of God''s creatures. She enjoyed her flower gardens and watching the birds, squirrels, and rabbits enjoying sanctuary in her yard. Gini also enjoyed decorating her home with the changing seasons. She was able to share her talents of drawing with her grandchildren as they grew up. Her family was her main priority in life. She loved to have her daughters and their families for her favorite times of the year, Christmas, Easter, and summer family visits when her gardens were in full bloom.

Gini is survived by 2 daughters, Terri Henderson and her husband Kirk of Waterloo, Iowa and Lori Schrank and her husband Steve of Danbury, Iowa; a son-in-law, Tom McCrea of Austin, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Heidi (Chris) Wilson, Kent McCrea, Tory McCrea, Lexi Schrank, Jennifer Schrank, Sara Schrank, and Brett Schrank; 4 great grandchildren: Julia Wilson, Jon Wilson, Trenton Segebart, and Emma Segebart; a sister, Peggy Osborne and her husband Richard; a brother, John Cox and his wife Marjorie; a brother-in-law, Dean Roe of Stuart, Iowa; 2 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ridgley of Miami, Florida and Dorie Key and her husband Reldon of Lenox, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Gini was preceded in death by her husband Gene, the love of her life, on August 18, 1993; a daughter, Merri McCrea on April 17, 2003; and her parents, Ralph and Maude (Dunn) Cox
