Death Claims Old Resident
Mrs. J. H. Kruse Had Lived in This Vicinity Since Childhood
Mrs. Kruse, wife of John H. Kruse, prominent and well known farmer of Washington township, died at her home Monday morning from heart trouble and other complications. Mrs. Kruse had been In poor health since last February.
Her maiden name was Johanna Dorothea Reemts, and she was born in Ost Friesland, Germany. August 12, 1873. She came with her parents, Mr. and. Mrs. Fred Reemts, to this part of the country when she was seven years of age. They lived In Seney vicinity for some years and later moved to Preston township and then to Union county, South Dakota.
She was united in marriage thirty four years ago with John H. Kruse in Union county. They located on farm in Washington township where they farmed successfully many years.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband and five daughters, Mrs George Renken, of Grant township Mrs. Louis Halweg, of Plymouth township; Mrs. Fred Haage, Jr., of Johnson township; Misses Anna and Ida Kruse living at home. Two sons preceded the mother in death. She also leaves four brothers, John and Hermann Reemts, of Akron, Chris and Frank Reemts, living in Union county, three sisters, Mrs. Henry Steiner, Mrs, Ida Ross, near Akron, and Mrs. John Borchers, of Preston township. There are three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and services at the Preston township Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Theo. Meyer officiating. Interment
win be made in the cemetery in Preston township.Mrs. Kruse was a devoted wife and mother and a good neighbor who enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew her.
