John R. Kruse, Retired Farmer Died Monday After Long Illness

John Rudolph Kruse, 78, a retired farmer, died at his home a short distance southwest of LeMars Monday. He had been sick for several years.

Although he was born in Illinois, Aug. 2, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Kruse, Mr. Kruse had lived in Plymouth county ever since coming here as a child. He married Miss Johanna Reemts March 4, 1896 in Preston township where he will be buried. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Mauer's funeral home, were not completed Monday.

He is survived by five daughters, Anna Kruse, at home, Mrs. George (Flora) Renken, Sioux City; Mrs. Louis (Tena) Halweg and Mrs. Herman (Ida) Halweg, both of LeMars; and Mrs. Fred (Hanna) Haage of Akron; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. John Mamman, Sioux City; Mrs, George Popkin, Mrs. Herman Frerichs and Mrs, Adolph Popken; and two brothers, Dick and Harm.
