Mrs. Willie (Sarah) Chambers, 84, of Akron, died April 28,1976 at the Akron nursing home after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. May 1,in the Schroeder Funeral Home. The Rev. Sherman Tidball, pastor of the United Methodist church, Akron, officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ed Kiewel, Randall Breitbarth, Daryl Port, Alvin Beeck, Elvin Hopp, and Emil Beeck.

Mrs. Chambers, the former Sarah Jammerthal, was born June 5, 1891, in Akron and has spent most of her life in the Akron area. She married Willie Chambers in 1924 at Rodney, Iowa. He died in 1932.

Survivors include a son Fay, of Akron; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lavina) Lewison of Akron, a step-daughter, Mrs. Abel (Mildred) Anderson of Hammond,Indiana, a step-son Clarence Chambers of Whiting, Ind.; a brother Harold Jammerthal of Akron, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
