On Sunday morning, February 19, 1911, death received 11 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Ahrens, of Ruble, from and illness.
Olga Ahrens was born in Westfield, Iowa on February 20, 1899. Three years later she; with her parents, moved to Johnson Township, where she was at the time of her death. She had just recovered from pneumonia and Tuesday was able to be up with the family in the evening she growing suddenly worse, losing consciousness from which she never recovered. Dr. Kerr was called from Akron and another doctor from Le Mars, but nothing caring hands or medical skill would bring relief, until death claimed her and relieved her suffering.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Meske at the German Lutheran Church in Akron on Wednesday afternoon, February 22. The pallbearers were chosen from her schoolmates-Lillian Kallsen, Amanda Kallsen, Alma Borchers, Rose Anderson, Ruth Kirk and Ruth Johnson. A beautiful floral piece from her teacher and schoolmates were among the floral offerings. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
Left to mourn the death of this bright and lovable little girl are her parents, three brothers-George, Herman, and Arthur—and three sisters-Mary, Adeline and Hattie. These bereaved have the sympathy of many friends.
