DEATH OF JOHN AMUNDSON

John Amundson died at his home in Akron, Tuesday morning, November 9, 1937, after an illness of several years, aged 63 years and 24 days.

Mr. Amundson was born in Trondjhem, Norway, October 16, 1874. He came to America in 1891, and they located at Minneapolis, Minn., for a year or so. Coming to Union count}, S. D., in 1894, they farmed there for a number of years. They then moved to a farm near Westfield, Iowa. In 1909 Mr. Amundson was married to Louise A. Onnen, and seven children came to bless their union. With his family, he farmed at Westfield until the spring of 1937, when he retired from farming and, with his family, moved to Akron, where he lived until his death. He had been in poor health for the past several years. Mr. Amundson was always an active and industrious man up to the time his health failed.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, and four sons, Oscar, Clarence, Edward and Ralph; three daughters, Louella, Dorothy and Margaret, all of Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Ole Moe, of Westfield, Iowa; Mrs. Martin Clementson, of Elk Point, S. D., and Mrs. Edward Staum, of Carpenter, S. D., and one brother, Carl Amundson, of near Westfield, Iowa.

He was a kind and devoted husband land father, a helpful neighbor and a I valued friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, November 11, in the English Lutheran church, Rev. W. I. Aamoth officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
