Mrs. Daisie Peterson

Mrs. Daisie Peterson, 85, 226 6th St. SW, died Monday (Aug. 19, 1974) at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of 10 days. She entered the hospital Sunday.

Mrs. Peterson, a housewife, came to Le Mars 40 years ago.

Daisie Brown was born April 12, 1889, at Maddox county, Va. She was an orphan and was raised by a Mr. and Mrs. George Douglas of Elkwood, Va. She spent 28 years with them.

She was married to Siegfred Peterson in 1920 at Culpeper, Va. The couple moved to Rock Rapids in 1929 and then to Le Mars in 1934.

Mrs. Peterson was very active in her church, Church of the Nazarene, and spent much of her time toward the services of other people. She had been a member of the church since 1935.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Gary Carr officiating.

Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are a daughter. Mrs, George (Lenora) Reeves of Le Mars, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
