RIEDEMANN, MEYER, GOTTO

Rites Tuesday for Vernon Riedemann.
Vernon W. Riedemann, 78, died Friday afternoon, March 13, 1992. He was stricken at his home and rushed by ambulance to Orange City Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Funeral services were held March 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church here. Rev. Craig Miller officiated. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mr. Riedemann was born Aug 6, 1913 at Paullina, Ia., the son of William and Fern (Carlson) Riedemann. He attended country school south of Paullina and later attended high school in Meriden, Ia.
His marriage to Rosetta Meyer took place May 29, 1935 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. They farmed in the Cherokee area for several years before moving to a farm south of Remsen. In 1971, they retired from farming and moved into Remsen. Vernon then worked for six years for the town of Remsen. Since 1977 he worked for Moeller Furniture and Moeller Funeral Home. He was active in a number of enterprises in the Remsen area until the time of his death.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, of Remsen.
Surviving are his wife, Rosie, of Remsen, two sons, Wendell and Richard, both of Remsen, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Gotto, of Remsen; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Eric (Gladys) Pearson of Remsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gordon Riedemann. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, March 19, 1992
