Area Deaths. AUGUST SNOW EXPIRES AT HOSPITAL-HAD FARMED BEFORE MOVING TO REMSEN-RITES FRIDAY.
Funeral services for August Sanow, 66, lifelong resident of the Remsen community who died Tuesday at Sacred Heart hospital after a five-year illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen.
Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate and burial will be in the Remsen cemetery under the direction of the Fisch funeral home.
Mr. Sanow was born on a farm near Remsen July 2, 1892. He married Emma Koerner Dec. 25, 1915. The couple farmed for nine years before moving to Remsen where they had since resided.
He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are the widow, four daughters, Mrs. Harold Mouser of Remsen, Mrs. Junior Conner of Mason City, Mrs. Martin Wandersheid of Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Stanley Nilles of Kingsley; three sons, Harlan of Remsen and Wayne and Donald, both of Marcus; two brothers and two sisters. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, May 13, 1959, page 3.
