Funeral Monday for Dena Reiners.
Mrs. William H. (Dena) Reiners, 81, died Thursday, July 11, 1991 at the United Medical Center in Moline, Ill. She had been visiting at the home of her daughter Sandra at Moline.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Remsen. Rev. Craig Miller officiated. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reiners, the former Dena Tuttle, was born July 24, 1909 at Laurens, Ia., the daughter of George and Esther Tuttle. She attended school and graduated from the high school at Ware, Ia. She then attended the Fort Dodge Business College.
Dena came to the Remsen area in 1933 and worked for her brother-in-law, Enoch Johnson. She was married to William Reiners on Sept. 4, 1935. Mr. Reiners was a mechanic and had his own shop in Remsen. After his death in 1982, Dena continued to make her home in Remsen.
Mrs. Reiners and her sister, Doris Johnson, were proprietors of the Remsen Fabric Shop for several years.
She was a member of the Remsen Women’s Club, Remsen School P.T.A., the Remsen Peer Counseling Group and spent many hours doing volunteer work at Happy Siesta Nursing Home.
Surviving are two sons, Jim of Mena, Ark., and Michael of Sioux City; a daughter, Sandra Sue Tschopp of Moline, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a son, George; three sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Michael Simpson, Raymond Reiners, Steve Simpson, Ed Reiners, William T. Reiners and Randy Rich. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise
